What Is Thought? (2004)¶

This book was thought-provoking, brilliant and crippled by omissions and unsupported assertions. All in all, the ideal combination to engage with at the moment. I look forward to dissecting it more fully. For now, here my favourite quote, less because of its analytic depth than for the surprising insight into Baum’s social life:

“[If you were not] capable of recognizing cups...when you visited your friend’s house and sat at the table you’d be socially embarrassed and thus less likely to breed”
